  • Kanye West Schools Kids In Election '08 PSAs

Kanye West has partnered with the Strong American Schools (S.A.S.) for their "ED in an '08" campaign which will address America's education crisis and dropout epidemic.

As part of their partnership, Kanye West will appear in television public service announcements for SAS calling for U.S. Presidential candidates to improve America's public schools and make education reform a top priority on the campaign trail.

According to Strong American Schools, 1.2 million students drop out of high school every year nationwide.

"The 'ED in '08' campaign is excited to partner with the Kanye West Foundation in advocating for new national leadership to strengthen America's schools," said Marc Lampkin, executive director of "ED in '08," via a statement. "We look forward to working with the Kanye West Foundation to raise awareness about America's education crisis and urge the presidential candidates to put forward a plan to improve America's schools because in every community in America, too many children are leaving school without the skills to be ready to succeed in college, career and life."

In addition, both Kanye and his mother, Dr. Donda West, will make a joint appearance with "ED in '08." Copies of West's upcoming album, Graduation, will also be made available via activities at ED in '08's website.

In related news, MTV recently joined forces with MySpace to launch an interactive series on their respective websites for presidential candidates and American youth to hold candid and unfiltered discussions.

MTV and Myspace users will be able to talk with the candidates in real-time by submitting questions through MySpaceIM, cell phones and e-mail and by registering feedback using live polling tools.

The discussions will be held at various college campuses from September to December. All major Republican and Democratic candidates, including Hillary Clinton, Rudy Giuliani and Barrack Obama, will participate in the events.

The inaugural Presidential dialogue will be with former Senator John Edwards in Primary State of New Hampshire on Thursday, September 27.
