  • Foxy Brown Speaks From Behind Bars, "I Probably Cried The Entire Thanksgiving"

Jailed rapper Foxy Brown breaks her silence and speaks about her time behind bars as she focuses on her release.

"I probably cried the entire Thanksgiving," Foxy told Metro New York. "I spoke to my entire family, but I was boo-hooing like a baby. We were served what would be considered sweet potatoes, collared greens and turkey, but it wasn't anything like my mother's cooking. I was really, really depressed all day."

Brown (born Inga Marchand) was supposed to serve 76 days in "punitive segregation," locked away for 23 hours a day, but the rapper got out in 40 on good behavior.

"It's been very hard, but I believe God uses circumstances to develop your character," Brown said. "I know coming out of this I'm going to be a much stronger person."

Foxy also said she has learned her lesson, giving hope that her days as a blackberry-wielding rapper are behind her.

"I'm much smarter now," Brown said. "I know how to dodge and weave."

In related news, Foxy recently left her longtime recording home Def Jam records and signed a deal with Koch records to release her next album via her own imprint, Black Rose.
