Rapper Paperboy, who enjoyed success in the 90s for his single "Ditty," was arrested late Wednesday night (March 19) on marijuana possession in Merced, California.
According to local paper the Merced Sun-Star, the rapper (real name: Mitchell Charles Johnson) was stopped at around 11 p.m. after the arresting officer noticed a broken rear tail light.
When Officer Moses Nelson approached the rapper's vehicle, a 1994 Lincoln Mark VIII, he noticed strong scent of marijuana.
A search of the vehicle turned up less than an ounce of marijuana in Johnson's car, in addition to a bottle of prescription medication that wasn't prescribed to Paperboy.
He was arrested and booked into the Merced County Main Jail on misdemeanor charges of marijuana possession and transportation, illegal possession of prescription medication and driving on a suspended license, according to the paper.
Paperboy was later released after posting $10,000 bail.
This isn't the first time the rapper has been arrested for weed as of late.
In June 2007, the 34-year-old was arrested in Merced for allegedly selling weed, when police found nearly $1,200 worth of marijuana in his car during a traffic stop.
He originally pleaded not guilty to the charges, but apparently, he copped a deal. The rapper pleaded no-contest to the charges in exchange for no jail time. He was facing up to three years in prison, but received three years of felony probation and had to pay about $400 in fines instead.
With the latest arrest, he might be in some trouble.
Paperboy had a top 10 single in 1993 with his single "Ditty," from his The Nine Yards album, and even received a Grammy nomination for Best Rap Solo Performance in 1994.
Since then, he's fell somewhat off the radar, unable to garner the same success.
