  • Ice Cube Readies New Album, Embarks On Internat’l Tour

West Coast rap superstar Ice Cube will return to the mic with the release of his eighth studio album, Raw Footage, next month.

The follow up to the 2006 disc, Laugh Now, Cry Later - which debuted at No. 4 on Billboard 200 sales chart - Raw Footage will also be released independently on Ice Cube’s Lench Mob Records. Featuring appearances from Musiq Soulchild, Young Jeezy, The Game and WC.

The street single off the 17 track set “Gangsta Rap Made Me Do It,” has already stirred a buzz and controversy on the streets and net, now the “godfather of gangsta rap” looks to impact mainstream with the first official single and video “Do Ya Thing.”

The video directed by Dale “Rage” Resteghini, paints Cube’s message about “doing your thing and not worrying about who’s looking,” blends cool summer scenes with new sports cars and West Coast lowriders..

In preparation for his new Raw Footage, Cue will kick off an European tour on July 11th in Leipzig, Germany for eleven dates, leading into his US tour starting on August 21st in Seattle and ending on September 21st in New York City.

Raw Footage is slated to hit shelves and online outlets on August 19th.

In related news, Cube recently tapped Young Jeezy to star in his upcoming comedy, Janky Promoters. In what is to be the Snowman’s debut film, Jeezy will play “the big name hip-hop act,” who a pair of shady concert promoters, played by Cube and Mike Epps, try to book for a show. The film marks Cube’s first screenplay since 2002’s Friday After Next.
