Former Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker and DJ AM were critically injured Friday night after a Learjet crashed in South Carolina, killing four other people.

Two plane crew members and two passengers died in the accident just before midnight following an performance.

Barker and DJ AM (real name Adam Goldstein) have been admitted to an Augusta, GA burn unit.

Federal Aviation Administration spokeswoman Kathleen Bergen said air traffic controllers saw sparks coming from the plane shortly before midnight.

The Learjet veered off the runway and crashed on the highway adjacent to the airport.

Goldstein, former fiance' of Nicole Richie, performed as bandmate to the post Blink-182 drummer Barker under the group name TRVSDJ-AM.

Barker has worked with several notable Hip-Hop artists. Most recently, he collaborated with The Game on his new album L.A.X. and has remixed songs by artists ranging from Soulja Boy to Busta Rhymes.

Barker and DJ AM recently released a mixtape called “Fix Your Face,” a series of Hip-Hop infused remixes of acts like Run DMC, Michael Jackson, James Brown, and a diverse line up.

Details Emerge in Travis Barker/DJ AM Plane Crash

Travis Barker and DJ AM are expected to make full recovery after sustaining second and third degree burns during a plane crash that killed four passengers.

Dr. Fred Mullins released a statement yesterday (September 21) to the Associated Press claiming both men were being treated in a Georgia hospital. Mullins revealed Barker’s effected area was his torso and his lower body while DJ AM (born Adam Goldstein) has sustained burns on his hands and a section of his head.

While they are expected to make full recoveries, Mullins explained that the burns may take up to an entire year to heal completely.

Both artists were aboard a Learjet flight last Friday (September 19) when it crashed while taking off at Metropolitan Airport in Columbia, South Carolina. Out of the six passengers aboard, only Barker and Travis survived.

According to Wistv, the deceased have been identified as pilot Sarah Lemmon, 31, and co-pilot James Bland, 52, as well as members of Barker’s entourage; Chris Baker, 29, and Charles Still, 25.

Barker and Travis are currently in critical but stable condition.

Since working with Blink-182, Barker has collaborated with many big names in hip-hop. Along with his recent work with The Game on L.A.X., he also is known by hip-hop fans for his drum remixes of rap songs such as Soulja Boy's "Crank That" and Busta Rhymes' "Don't Touch Me (Throw Da Water On ‘Em)."

DJ AM Released from Hospital, Travis Barker Out In 2 Weeks

Exactly a week after surviving a deadly plane crash with former Blink 182 drummer Travis Barker that killed four people, DJ AM (born Adam Goldstein) has been released from a Georgia hospital.

According to TMZ, the artist is en route to Los Angeles. DJ AM’s rep said via a statement, "Adam Goldstein has been released from Doctors Hospital. While he is deeply saddened by the events, he is thankful for all of the love and support he has been receiving from fans and friends world wide. We ask that you continue to respect his privacy as he rests and heals and mourns the loss of his friends".

As for Barker, People is reporting it may be another two weeks before he is released from the hospital.

Jermaine Dupri, who is a close friend and business partner of Barker’s, told the mag, "He's just now getting everything in the hospital set up for him – iPods, computers, everything that he needs. You got to make sure he is comfortable." Dupri and Barker work on the So So Def clothing line together.

A Learjet carrying DJ AM, Barker and four others crashed while taking off from Metropolitan Airport in Columbia, South Carolina last Friday (September 19). Barker’s assistant and his body guard, along with the plane’s pilot and co-pilot were killed.

The exact cause of the incident is unknown but the National Transportation Safety Board has reason to believe it may have been due to a tire malfunction.
