Rumors of Busta Rhymes leaving Interscope has been floating around since July, after gossip blogs reported that the rapper was involved in a heated argument with label chairman, Jimmy Iovine.
While some of that may be far-fetched, it has been reported (via SOHH) that Busta has officially cut ties with Interscope for a new situation at Universal Motown Records.
Interscope has yet to confirm reports, but Universal tells SOHH that the New York rapper has signed a deal to drop his next project on the label.
Blessed was the title of the album Busta was slated to drop months ago on Interscope. However, it has suffered several delays, and been pushed back with no date in sight, despite filming and releasing videos for "We Made It" and "Don't Touch Me (Throw Da Water On 'Em)."
There was no word, at press time, if the project slated to drop on Universal will be Blessed.
Stay tuned as this story develops.
