The undisclosed illness that caused Janet Jackson to miss three shows last week is still keeping the singer off the road, as an announcement over the weekend revealed that Jackson would miss three more shows.
According to the Associated Press, Jackson's publicist dispatched an e-mail Saturday (October 4) stating that the singer was postponing that night's show in Greensboro, North Carolina, as well as a gig in Atlanta on Sunday and one in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, on Tuesday.
"Janet was hoping to resume her tour in an effort not to disappoint her fans," read Saturday's statement. "However, after arriving in Greensboro, it became evident that she is not fully recovered. A local doctor advised that she not perform tomorrow."
So far, specifics regarding the illness plaguing the 42-year-old singer have not been revealed. She fell "suddenly ill" last week during soundcheck for a show in Montreal, and was hospitalized, forcing the cancellation of the scheduled show.
She then canceled stops in Boston and Philadelphia that were scheduled for Wednesday and Thursday.
Jackson's publicist said she was "recuperating" Saturday, and will return home at her doctor's suggestion for further treatment. The promoter of her Rock Witchu Tour is currently working on rescheduling the missed dates.
