  • will.I.am, Fergie Accused Of Stealing "Voodoo Doll"

Black Eyed Peas group members will.I.am and Fergie have been hit with a new lawsuit claiming they stole Fergie’s song “Voodoo Doll.”

Grounded Music Inc. filed a lawsuit in United States District Court for the Central District of California, alleging will.I.am and Fergie stole their song “Waterfall,” from an album titled Each One Teach One, by the group Groundation.

The lawsuit alleges that will.I.am, born William Adams Jr. and Fergie, born Stacy Ferguson., stole the song after coming into possession of the track sometime between 2001-2006.

“Voodoo Doll” was produced by will.I.am and released on Fergie’s 2006 hit album The Dutchess, which has sold in excess of six million copies worldwide.

Additionally the album sold another 20 million units in total digital sales based off of the five #1 singles the album produced.

In addition to will.I.am and Fergie, EMI April Music, Headphone Junkie Publishing, will.I.am Music, Interscope Records and Universal Music Group are also named in the lawsuit, which seeks an undisclosed amount in damages for copyright infringement.
