DMX Set To Enter The World of MMA — Match Slated For December
While he's continuing to work on new music, his most recent attempt to get back into the spotlight is by entering the world of mixed martial arts (MMA).
The rapper is set to fight in an upcoming bout in December against a member of his management team, as a part of an event being put on by Thunder Promotions in Birmingham, Alabama.
X will fight musician Eric Martinez on the undercard where former UFC fight Tank Abbott will face professional heavyweight boxer Butterbean.
Martinez is CEO of Power Moves Entertainment, a management firm, event promotions company and record label, based in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and currently represents the rapper.</p>
It's unclear what kind of training DMX is undergoing to prepare himself for the upcoming match.
The event goes down on December 12 at the Birmingham Jefferson Convention Center.
Previous celebrity MMA combatants include Spencer Pratt and Jose Conseco, who lasted just 77 seconds in the ring.
