  • Dr. Dre Blames Motivation For "Detox" Delay

For years hip-hop fans have been waiting for Dr. Dre's next album, "Detox," to arrive in stores. The album has been delayed several times, and, according to Rapbasement.com, Dre is blaming the hold up on a lack of motivation. The famed producer states, quote, "Hopefully I'll get it done by the end of this year and you'll hear it next year. Motivation and other things getting in the way."

In related news, fellow West Coast emcee The Game recently posted pictures of himself, Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg together in the studio on his Twitter page. The Game accompanied the photos with a caption that read, quote, "Can (you) say 'Detox'? In the studio wit Dre (and) Snoop. We bout (to) make a lot of people mad. Ride wit us or get ran over!"

Dr. Dre's last release was 1999's "2001." The album debuted at number two on the Billboard 200 chart after selling 550-thousand units in its first week. "2001" has gone on to sell more than six-million copies in the U.S.

Shyne's Prison Release Delayed Over Immigration Status

Former Bad Boy rapper Shyne isn't a free man yet. The emcee was supposed to be released from prison on Tuesday after serving nine years for assault and attempted murder, but his release is reportedly now under review. A rep for Shyne tells MTV News that the Belize-born artist is being detained by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement in Western New York while officials decide whether or not he should be deported. The rep states, quote, "Shyne is currently in federal custody while his future immigration status is determined." According to MTV News, the status of Shyne's release from prison is still unclear.

Shyne, whose real name is Jamal Barrow, was involved in a shooting outside of a New York nightclub in December 1999. The night of the incident, Shyne was accompanied by Sean "Diddy" Combs and his then-girlfriend Jennifer Lopez. Shyne and Diddy both went on trial for the shooting, but Diddy was eventually acquitted.
