Ruff Ryders' Drag-On recently discussed the well-being of fellow crew member DMX and shared his reaction to learning of X previously trying his hand at mixed martial arts.
According to Drag, he had no idea X was making a move to the ring earlier this year.
"A UFC fight?!," Drag exclaimed when the above bout was mentioned. "[Laughs] I ain't even hear about that. Aww man, that's crazy though. [Laughs] But he good though; he chillin'. He in Arizona right now...He in the studio; he working. So I mean everything is good as far as with the dog. He gon' always go through his trials and tribulations, that's just X. People gotta realize, that's just him. That's just his life. It's been like that before he was on too. That's not changed. He actually did more time before he was a rapper. [But] he good." Legal action has reportedly been placed against X since calling off the December 2009 match.
The promoters of an upcoming boxing match that was to have featured rapper DMX, claim that in addition to backing out of the fight at the last minute, the rapper has failed to return a deposit. Promoters also allege the DMX and his manager scammed them using a fake management company. Thunder Promotions officially filed the lawsuit on November 20th in the Circuit Court of Jefferson County Alabama. Thunder Promotions' lawsuit states that although DMX accepted a $6,000 deposit to fight, he backed out of the match when they refused to guarantee his safety or fix the fight in his favor. Speculation on a possible lawsuit began to circulate last month when the rapper was replaced by Coolio.
Thunder Productions tells TMZ they have signed Coolio to the upcoming celebrity boxing match scheduled to take place in Alabama next month. They tell us Coolio has been much easier to deal with and "he is going to take this seriously." X had previously agreed to the bout, but only on the condition he was guaranteed to win. (TMZ)
Earlier this month, Drag spoke with SOHH about the delayed Ruff Ryders reunion.
"I was just with Sheek [Louch] last night," Drag-On told SOHH. "We were on the radio, just promoting our projects that we got coming out. Everybody's still cool, you know what I"m saying? It never was no beef, you know what I'm saying? We just all had a lot of things on our plate and we just have to fulfill those needs right now. But other than that, everything else is still kosher. X is always gonna be like my big brother in this game, like, so X was the one that really showed us off. So he's always gonna be my big brother in the game." (SOHH)
