XMenFilms.Net reports that the producers and 20th Century Fox have requested that the character of Storm be "included in the X3 film screenplay on a provisional basis. The role is being written with the idea that it can easily be switched out for another character under the circumstances that actress, Halle Berry cannot return. Should the actress return, the role will likely be expanded to that equal of the other main cast members, in future drafts of the screenplay. It is also possible that the role could possibly remain small for a cameo appearance."
A top-notch source has confirmed for IGN FilmForce that Storm is "definitely a big part of the script right now." Fox is now getting serious about sealing deals with the cast and the new director, as production on X-Men 3 is slated to begin summer 2005. The filmmakers are keen on seeing Halle Berry return but no deals will be made until the new year, at which point the filmmakers will know who's in and who's out.
XMenFilms.net is also reporting a rumor that a Storm spin-off movie is a possibility, as is a Mystique movie. Both Wolverine and Magneto are currently at the script stage of development.
