X-Men 3: No Gambit
TheXverse.com reports that Gambit won't appear in X-Men 3 afterall: "Today, Ralph Winter (one of the film's producers) confirmed to The Xverse that there is no appearance by Gambit in X-Men 3 -- but that it might be included in "the next one". This indicates that despite any possible plans to end the series with a trilogy, people involved with production are open to future X-sequels.
Superherohype has confirmed that Shohreh Aghdashloo will actually be playing Dr. Ceclia Reyes; a reluctant mutant who can create a six inch force field around herself. Aghdashloo will begin filming in October and has not yet read the script.
Hollywood North Report has learned that Shawn Ashmore (aka Bobby Drake/Iceman) has arrived in Vancouver to reprise his role in X-Men 3. There is also a picture of him with actress Ellen Page, who will play Kitty Pryde/Shadowcat in the third film up at the site here.
Meanwhile, IGN Filmforce backs their source, saying that Shohreh Aghdashloo made a mistake when telling Entertainment Weekly what character she's playing. The site claims it is indeed Dr. Kavita Rao and not Dr. Cecilia Reyes. In other X3 news, IGN has learned that the cast of X3 will feature yet another appearance by a supporting character from the Marvel comics. That addition is none other than Jamie Madrox, a.k.a. Multiple Man. The role has not yet been cast, though.
