David Duchovny has checked out of a rehabilitation center for sex addiction, his lawyer, Stanton "Larry" Stein, told People magazine.
"David is out of rehab and about to start a new movie," Stein told People. "He successfully completed his treatment."
Duchovny, 48, who plays a sex-obsessed character on Showtime's "Californication," said he entered rehab voluntarily.
"I ask for respect and privacy for my wife and children as we deal with this situation as a family," he said in a statement upon announcing that he was entering rehab.
Duchovny starred as the conspiracy-minded Fox Mulder on "The X-Files" TV series and in two films.
He and his wife, actress Tea Leoni, have two children. The couple married in 1997.
