A 12-year-old boy has been sentenced to seven years in juvenile prison after pleading guilty to aggravated robbery in the death of a man who was pushed into a moving light rail train in Dallas last year.

The boy is the third suspect to plead guilty since 19-year-old Octavius Lanier was pushed from a South Dallas platform and dragged about 30 feet by the train in November.

The Dallas Morning News reported that Tuesday's plea meant the boy could in a Texas Juvenile Justice Department facility until he turns 19 unless he is released on parole sooner.

The boy apologized to the victim's mother in court Tuesday.

Two teenage boys have pleaded guilty separately in exchange for 30-year prison sentences. Charges against a fourth boy are pending.
