It has been completely quiet here...

Sadly, it seems Team Maverick is having some issues with sending a consistent message. Those mavericks...they are just so mavericky that when you put two of them together, sometimes they are just unwilling to agree with one another. You can not blame them though, it can be traced back to their high levels of maverick DNA. You know, it is ok to be a maverick and interpret the constitution however you please...it is ok to be a maverick and abuse power...it is ok and be a maverick and not answer questions...it is ok and to be a maverick and be a complete moron, however, do not squabble with your running mate over the issues...

John McCain was a supporter of Oliver North during Iran-Contra. North sold arms to terrorists who kidnapped Americans.

Why does John McCain support known terrorist sympathizers?

" I hope my fellow conservatives will decide as I have, that we need John McCain as Commander in Chief."

      - Oliver North.

Hmmm...let's go ahead and settle up here

        On Palin:

You went from saying Palin had "just [been] found to have abused power" to suggesting she might not have gone through the "proper channels" in recommending the firing of a trooper who tasered her 11 year-old nephew (which, according to you, would be "fucked up if true). Nevermind that the "proper channel" was the public safety commisioner, and that for failing to "properly channel" chain-of-command, Palin (hypothetically) had every right as Governor to fire Monegan.

        Argument Retrograde: 47%
        Rebuttal Efficacy: 9%

        Overall score: 35%

        On Obama's brother:

You went from "Brother he hasn't known his entire life" to "Brother he has seen twice in his whole life," to asking "does a description of 'beautiful' mean that two people are on speaking terms?" all in the same page. Obama's half-brother, the uncle of two his children and his wife's brother-in-law, is living in squalor on $1 a month. This, unlike Troopergate, is a "fact." You then mention "welfare" after my suggestion that Obama send the man $12 a year.

        Argument Retrograde: 41%
        Rebuttal Efficacy: 2%

        Overall Score: 23%

McBain, for all his swiped, lowbrow Palin bashing has failed to do anything other than remind everyone of the obvious: he's a homosexual.

Nice try Connie Chung, but it still doesn't change the fact...

            Ep,

I am starting to think that you are just fucking around because I do not think you can possibly be serious regarding your rebuttals, so I am not going to respond to them. However, I do like you, so before I leave this board I am going to try and help you through these dark and difficulty times for Republicans. Don't you think it would be a good idea to cut your losses now and acknowledge that your party is becoming a colossal embarrassment? Don't you think continuing down this path could lead to long term irreversible damage to the Conservative party's future? You can still disassociate yourself with the candidates on the Republican ticket and salvage some credibility for the future...

            - Palin does not know what the job of a VP is. I understand that she is generally clueless about everything, however, you would think that she would at least have spent the past 3 months trying to figure out what this job consists of. And, why the hell didn't someone from the campaign give her Cliff notes on this??? That was completely irresponsible of the campaign to not provide a tutor to her while she was out campaigning. Would you hire a job candidate for even a Circle K who does not know what the job he/she is applying for????

            - Palin has stated more than once that she thinks that the Constitution provides the VP flexibility. Can anyone point to where anything even remotely similar to this exists in our Constitution???

            - Palin refuses to answer questions regarding anything unless it is in a controlled setting (she did however, do that embarrassing interview yesterday).

            - Palin will not even deliver the same consistent message that McCain wants her to.

            - Palin abused her power as governor.

On November 5 an autoposy will be performed and it will show that Palin was the primary cause of death of McCain's campaign. Palin on the otherhand, will live on and have a promising career as some late night infomercial saleswoman. Ep, now is the time to run while you still can...

By the way, in case you missed it, she does not even know what the job of a VP is!!!!

Sarah Palin charged taxpayers over $21,000 for her children to travel with her to events they weren't invited then amended the expense reports to say they were traveling on "official business".

              CLASSY!!!

and while trying to paint obama as an elitist celebrity and comparing him to Paris Hilton -- McCain spends $150,000 so Palin can play dress up...I thought she was just ordinary folk like Joe the Plumber?

                  Ep,

I know it is a lot for you to deal with and it is understandable that you would throw up so many smoke screens while trying to defend what you were wrongly led to believe. It is like waking up one day and finding out that you were adopted. It is shocking! Just know that we are here to help.

At least Palin would deign to know someone like Joe the Plumber in real life; in fact, I bet if she had a half-brother who worked as a plumber she'd even keep in touch with him.

And $150,000 is a drop in the bucket compared with the $150 million Obama raised in September alone. Where do you think all of that money came from? Inner-city folks? Hollywood celebrities? Maybe the majority of it came from people like George Soros, whose corporate interests far exceed any George Bush brought to Washington with him from Midland Texas, or perhaps from the insurance lobby, who stand to make record profits if his health care plan were to go into effect.

                      ???

Again, you seem to be missing the point. My point is not about who has more money or who has spent more money...it is about who has tried to claim one thing about candidate Obama (he is elitist, etc.) and here she is with a wardrobe that would make any Hollywood celebrity jealous...

Anyways, as it turns out, I'm going to be in LA this weekend. What are you guys doing this weekend? How about getting a beer and continuing this face-to-face?

McBain's birthday will be celebrated this Saturday night at:

                          The Chimneysweep
                          4354 Woodman Ave
                          Sherman Oaks, CA 91423

I'll be there, and hopefully it won't just be me and a bunch of guys McBain has met at rest stops posing as "co-workers."

Are you guys going to stay there the whole night? I was thinking of starting the night getting dinner and drinks at some place in Studio City (Google Maps shows that it is close to you). Would you be interested in meeting up for dinner before the bar?

Sorry about that Cheese...aside from being latently homosexual McBain is also a giant, preternatually tactless asshole.

I have to work all day Saturday (I'm my site's weekend editor) so probably not going to be finished until right before I leave for the bar. Also, I plan on drinking heavily* so probably going to skip eating dinner.

Probably get to the bar around 10.

*The plan is to drink McBain under the table again. Last year he passed out on the bar's patio and wound up getting tossed into a cab like a dead homeless guy. Wanna see that happen again. Either that or a repeat of the time he passed out in the bar's men's room.

                                Hey McBain,

I got the email you sent me -- apology accepted. I tried replying, though I keep getting a bounced email message???

Anyways, I will stop by the bar sometime after 10ish and I am in town until Monday night. I have a bad ass hotel all to myself in Universal City, so lets take the party back to the hotel jacuzzi -- are you down? Do you think you can get the bartender chick to get her friends to come back to the hotel with us?
