Philadelphia Eagles receiver DeSean Jackson won't play Sunday after he missed a team meeting on Saturday morning, a team source told ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter.
Another source familiar with the situation told Schefter that Jackson's alarm didn't go off, causing the receiver to oversleep and miss the special teams meeting.
It wasn't the first time Jackson has been late or missed a meeting, one person told The Associated Press, calling this the "final straw."
Jackson is unsigned beyond this year and protested his minimum-wage salary by holding out of the first 10 days of training camp. When he showed up he said his protest days were behind him and his plan was to play and work hard and hope the team did right by him.
Jackson, a two-time Pro Bowl pick, is the team's second-leading receiver with 29 catches for 503 yards and two touchdowns this season. Jackson had 110 catches for 2,223 yards and 15 TDs as a receiver the last two years and already owns the franchise record with four punt returns for scores.
The Eagles (3-5) host the Arizona Cardinals (2-6) on Sunday. John Skelton will start again at quarterback for Arizona as Kevin Kolb will miss another game because of his turf toe injury.
