Panthers wideout Steve Smith gives $100,000 to Colorado shooting victims
Carolina Panthers wide receiver Steve Smith is stepping up big time to help the victims of the Aurora, Colo. shooting at a movie theater that left 12 people dead and 58 more injured last week. Smith announced Thursday that he will donate $100,000 to the victims of the shooting.
“As a father and husband I cannot imagine the pain and suffering the victims are going through,” Smith said in a statement. “My family’s hearts and prayers are extended to theirs, and I hope this contribution might assist in paying some of the medical bills that will help allow these families to move forward in this tragic circumstance. Hopefully this helps a little bit. From one NFL city to another, God bless.”
The money will help offset some of the medical costs endured by the victims.
