Mark Sanchez will return as the starting quarterback for the New York Jets in Sunday's regular-season finale against the Buffalo Bills.
Jets coach Rex Ryan announced Thursday that Greg McElroy has a concussion, giving the embattled Sanchez the start against Buffalo.
Ryan also said Tim Tebow was "not happy" about once again being passed over for the start.
McElroy, who was sacked 11 times in Sunday's loss to the San Diego Chargers, complained of concussion symptoms while lifting weights. He also admitted to the team that he had been hiding the symptoms since Sunday.
Sanchez was benched after throwing four interceptions and losing a fumble in a 14-10 loss to the Tennessee Titans on Dec. 17, a defeat that eliminated the Jets from playoff contention.
