  • Woman Runs During Wedding Proposal At Magic Game

What was supposed to be a magical moment at Sunday night's Orlando Magic basketball game instead turned into an embarrassing memory for one man, according to Local 6 News.

The unidentified man asked his girlfriend to marry him in front of thousands of fans at the Magic's 97-94 victory over the New Orleans Hornets at the TD Waterhouse Centre.

The man, who was standing on the court, dropped to a knee and asked the woman to marry him. Instead of answering, the woman turned and ran off the court with her face in her hands.

Meanwhile, Steve Francis scored 22 points and handed out 10 assists to lead the Orlando. Hedo Turkoglu also had 22 points in the win.

Dwight Howard contributed 11 points and 10 rebounds for the Magic, who won for just the second time in six games. Pat Garrity added 12 points for Orlando and Grant Hill also had 11.

Dan Dickau went 7-of-9 from three-point range and finished with a career-high 28 points for the Hornets, who were trying to win their third straight game for the first time this season. J.R. Smith had 20 in a losing effort.

"If you look at our schedule, we have (played) so many close games that we lost," said Dickau. "We could easily have 20 to 22 wins right now and that is the frustrating thing," said Dickau, whose team is 10-41.

Orlando led by as many as 12 in the third quarter, but the Hornets began an 11-0 run late in the frame and tied the contest at 81-81 early in the fourth.

The Magic moved ahead again and led, 93-86, after two free throws by Francis with 2:38 left, but New Orleans would not quit and cut the deficit to 95-94 with 15.9 seconds left.

Dickau fouled out with 11 seconds left and Francis hit two free throws to give the Magic a three-point lead. The Hornets had one last chance, but Smith rushed a three-point attempt and missed everything. Howard grabbed the air ball and the final two seconds ticked off the clock.

After a half that was tied after each of the first two quarters, the Magic opened an 81-69 lead and carried an 81-74 lead into the final frame. "We ain't playing good," said Francis.

"We were up 11, 12 points then we let them get back in it. There's still a lot of things we can improve on."

Dickau made four three-pointers in the third and New Orleans was able to claw back to trail by just seven heading into the fourth quarter.
