  • Ricky Williams agrees to paternity settlement

Former NFL rushing champion Ricky Williams will pay $4,200 per month in child support under terms of a paternity suit settlement with a former South Florida woman.

Cherie Clark, who now lives in Hawaii, will have custody of the child, Kekoa Blaze Williams. Ricky Williams agreed to establish a $300,000 trust fund for the boy and pay for his medical and life insurance, along with attorney fees in the case.

"We believe the settlement is in the best interests of the child," Clark's lawyer, Doug Reynolds, said Thursday.

The agreement was approved Wednesday by Broward County Circuit Judge Renee Goldenberg.

Williams, who has been traveling in India, quit the Miami Dolphins last July. Williams later acknowledged that he failed drug tests and faced a suspension for testing positive three times for marijuana.

Williams, a Heisman Trophy winner with the Texas Longhorns, owes the Dolphins $8.6 million because he breached his contract by retiring.
