  • Eagles drop tampering complaint against Cowboys

The Philadelphia Eagles have withdrawn a tampering complaint against the Cowboys filed after Dallas owner Jerry Jones suggested on a radio show that his team is often interested in players such as suspended wide receiver Terrell Owens.

"At the time, the Eagles were concerned that the nature and timing of the comments could affect the outcome of the arbitration hearing involving Owens," the team said in a statement Friday.

"We have now had the opportunity to review the full transcript of the interview and in light of the fact the comments obviously had no effect on the outcome of the hearing, the Eagles have since contacted the National Football League in order to withdraw their request to have the league pursue this matter."

Owens was suspended for four games by the Eagles on Nov. 5 for criticizing quarterback Donovan McNabb, fighting with team "ambassador" Hugh Douglas and other actions deemed detrimental to the team. The suspension was upheld by an arbitrator.

Before the decision was announced, Jones seemed to express interest in Owens on a radio show.

"In general, I am a risk-taker. We've gone down that road," Jones said when asked if the Cowboys might be interested in Owens. "I probably have a propensity to try and make things work. ... A top receiver could flourish with Drew Bledsoe. That's always appealing."'

NFL bylaws prohibit "any interference by a member club with the employer-employee relationship of another club or any attempt by a club to impermissibly induce a person to seek employment with that club or with the NFL."

How the hell would that affect the arbitration hearing?

I think Eagles realized that Owens is going to play for Dallas next season, and there is nothing they can do to stop it.

If the eagles are smart they will trade my boy T.O. to a team in the AFC. They might as well put a bullet in their head if they let him got to the Cowgirls.

In the right situation, Owens can be handled.

There is no chance that he can be handled by ANYONE in the NFL, NBA, CBA, Canadian League, Arena League, NHL, Major League Baseball, Triple A Baseball, Double A Baseball, etc...

He is impossible to tame, he has been KICKED OUT of 2 cities in 3 years for his unfathomable inability to follow simple sets of rules and his indescribable inability to control himself despite the fact that he had alot to lose in the process.

The man is a certifiable lunatic and will never change one iota no matter where he goes.

He is a fast spreading cancer who intentionally tried to destroy 2 NFL franchises.

He rebels against any kind of authority, he is an extremely stupid human being, he can't control his own mouth, he makes HORRIBLE decisions and he has no respect for the game, the only thing he cares about is his own agenda, not the team's agenda and certainly not the coach's agenda.

He has alienated 2 Pro Bowl QBs and 2 of the nicest men in coaching (Reid and Mariucci) who are well known as "player friendly" guys.

If anyone thinks that a Bill Parcells kind of coach has a snowball's chance in hell of meshing with a selfish ticking timebomb like Terrell Owens at this stage of the game, they are either very drunk or very stupid.

It is a match made in hell.
