  • Who is the best NBA player of ALL time

Hands down, and you're an idiot if you don't agree, it's gotta be Kobe Bryant. There's a lot of Laker haters out there, but look at all the records he's broken, his career point average, his 80+ point game, his agility, his accuracy in making shots, his ability to make the other team double team, triple team, and still making the clutch shots. True, the squad behind him could be better, if it was (think of Shaquille Oneal days, 3 championships), the sky is the limit. I mean, who else do the Lakers have really? Kobe, that's it and look at their record, they're going to be playoff contenders because of this one man. Kobe has gotta be the hands down best player to ever pick up a basketball.

Let me guess, you're inarticulate, uneducated, still live at home, no girlfriend and jack off to porn from the internet. Let me hit you with a baseball bat and draw a heart on your forehead from the blood trickling down your ear.

You're wrong except the jacking off to porn part. Then again, you didn't exactly refute what I said.

Refute means to prove to be false or erroneous, as an opinion or charge.

I'm happy you have Webster's Dictionary to quote from, however, you also didn't refute what I said, you simply tried to negate it with an unproven opinion. You just said "no", he isn't the greatest player, without any reason, rationale, stats, or counterargument. You threw out a word from the dictionary you thought was "intelligent", and thought that the word itself would make your reasoning seem sensible. In layman terms, "Your a fuckin loser."

            *sigh*

            Kids these days...

Jordan single handedly carried his team to SIX World titles. Kobe only has 3 rings and was ALWAYS second fiddle to Shaq. During those title runs Kobe wasn't the best player on his TEAM, child.

            Jordan has more:

            points
            career points per game
            assists
            steals
            MVPs
            ASG MVPs
            Finals MVPs
times named to the NBA All-Defense Team

Jordan actually had a post game and there was no question that he was the best player of his generation. Right now, there is some debate as to whether Kobe is the best player in the NBA. Jordan had guys hanging all over him due to the defensive rules in his era. Kobe has the luxury of not having to deal with that. Fact is, Jordan played in a league where the quality of play was much better than it is today. You wouldn't know because you weren't old enough to watch the games live.

Jordan is, was, and always will be...better.

No shit he's higher in those statistics, Jordan was like 38 when he retired, Kobe is only 28 years old. Are you fuckin kidding me? "Jordan has more career points". What the fuck are you smoking? I remember Jordan, he was a ball hog! Do you remember when Jordan came back to the game for the Wizards after retirement? He fuckin sucked balls! Your are right about, "The game has changed." Players are more talented now. Jordan wouldn't be able to hang in the league now, he'd be a no-name player. The funny thing is that teams know the Lakers formula to victory, "Pass to Kobe", yet they keep winning games because it doesn't matter what you do, he'll find a way to get his 28-30 points a game, if not 50. Short Irish man, let me take out you brain, step on it, take a shit on it, then put it back in your skull. Maybe then you'll have more sense.

So you're saying Kobe NOW is better than Michael Jordan in his prime? Bitch, please

Right. It's not like he led the league in win shares from 1988-1993, 1996-1997...oh, wait - he did.

He was old, dude. Same thing will happen to Kobe.

McBain, set this kid straight...players today can't shoot FTs now, don't play defense, and can't play anything but a 1v1 game.

Per game, Kobe has averaged 23.9 points, 4.5 assists, and 2.9 TO, 18.4 FGA. Jordan averaged 30.1 points, 5.3 assists, 2.7 TO, and 22.9 FGA. Basically, Jordan averaged more points, had more assists, and turned the ball over less than Kobe. Jordan was a superior defender in a league that featured the best scoring players of all time.

Facts are a bitch when you can't use then to make your argument, kid...

                  Michael Jordan > Kobe Bryant

Kobe is just a good player on a horriable team. He's not a leader. The first season the Lakers didn't have Shaq they fell apart. Where was Kobe then? Shaq almost took the Heat to the NBA finals his first year with the team. Shaq has taken every team he has been on to the Finals. Kobe is nothing with out Shaq.

In about 10 years Kobe might be the best ever.

Its unfair to compare MJ and Kobe right now. We should compare them after Kobe's career is over. I do think that Kobe is the best player in the NBA right now. All the Lakers need is just someone like a Kevin Garnett and they will be right back on top.

Let's not get crazy. Jordan didn't win anything until he had Pippen. MJ in his prime wouldn't be doing jack shit on this Laker team. Jordan was a great player but he had more talent around him than Kobe probably ever will.

Kobe probably is the best player right now, but he has a lot more to do to be called the best of all time.

Can't you guys just talk about the topic with out bashing each other? Chicano Avenger and Short Irish Guy, please grow up. You guys act like you're 12 years old.

Kobe is a better 3 point shooter than Jordan maybe, but that's it. Jordan is better than Kobe in every category.

I agree with the part about Kobe not having the other players around him like Jordan did. The reason why the Lakers aren't winning games right now is because they have been plagued with injuries.

Chris Mihm - Starting Center, has been out since the beginning of the season.

Kwame Brown- Starting Power Forward, has been out for the majority of the season.

Lamar Odom- Starting Forward. Has been in and out this season. Also injured.

Luke Walton- Forward- Injured and has been out for about 2 months. Still injured

Radmonovic- Forward- Injured from a snowboarding accident. Has been out.

To make the long story short, Kobe has been carrying the team on his shoulders right now. Don't underestimate his talent, he is playing with 3rd string players, the back ups, backups for the starters in 3 crucial positions, the 3 bigs. Yet, his team is second within their conference despite not having a real team. The truth of the matter is, you can't compare Jordan and Kobe. They are similar in talent, but we can never get a 1 on 1 action game. They played in different eras. Kobe, however, is the hands down best player right now. And Kelly, keep sucking on that bottle and maybe you'll make more sense. Drink your poison!
