The Seventh Floor Crew Takes Over The NFL
With the 31st pick in Saturday’s NFL Draft, the Chicago Bears selected Miami tight end Greg Olsen. Clearly, Olsen was most complete player at his position, and we’re not talking about his size, hands, or speed. We’re talking about his ability to lay down a sick rhyme. For those of you who don’t know, Olsen raps under the curious moniker G-Reg in the hip hop group Seventh Floor Crew.
Arguably the greatest collection of rappers ever assembled, the Seventh Floor Crew was established in 2004 and consists of Miami football players who lived in Mahoney Hall. Besides for Olsen, other Crew members include Jon “Big Beast” Beason, Tavares “T-Good” Gooden, and Willie “Dub C” Cooper.
While the whole song is great (sadly, they only made one), Olsen stands out on the track. We have no doubt this was a contributing factor in Jerry Angelo’s decision to draft him. Here are Olsen’s lyrics from the song. If there is a young child near you, we strongly advise they also read this, so they know what poetry truly sounds like:
