Breaking News: DA: No charges against Chargers' Merriman
The San Diego County District Attorney's Office has announced they will not pursue charges against Chargers linebacker Shawne Merriman in an incident involving TV and internet personality Tila Tequila.
"After a thorough review of the investigation into the Sept. 6, 2009 incident at the Poway home of Shawne Merriman, our office has determined there is insufficient evidence to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that any crime was committed. This case is now closed. No further comment will be made," District Attorney Bonnie Dumanis said in a statement released Friday.
Merriman was under investigation for an incident Sunday at his Poway home involving Tequila. She accused him of assaulting her as she tried to leave the home.
