  • Pacquiao Calls Out Mayweather: Agrees to 14-Day Testing Window

WBO welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao continues to voice his agreement to a drug testing schedule that he believes will satisfy the demands required for a potential megabout with Floyd Mayweather, but it is unclear whether that, in itself, is what the unbeaten welterweight's side really wants. Negotiations for a proposed megabout between Pacquiao (51-3-2, 38 knockouts) and Mayweather (41-0, 25 KOs) are resumed after having reached an impasse in January for a proposed March 13 bout.

The conflict arose over whether or not each fighter would be subjected to Olympic style random drug testing of blood and urine.

A gag order has been in place for the negotiations, and neither side is speaking publicly. Pacquiao initially refused to have blood drawn closer than within 24 days of a fight, but the Filipino star has since softened his stance.

"I'm very much willing and excited to train for that fight. I'm also ready to assume my congressional seat" Pacquiao told BoxingScene.com and GMA News out of his native Manila, Philippines.

"Floyd has no reason to refuse to fight any more because I have agreed to the 14-day limit within which they can draw blood from me."

Meanwhile, Pacquiao's promoter, Bob Arum, continues to work with Golden Boy Promotions on perhaps the most highly anticipated fight in decades between Pacquiao and Mayweather.

I hope Pacquiao beats Mayweather ruthlessly, to the point where Floyd has no choice but to retire because he was made to look a slow fool. That mouthy punk pulled the PED card to duck a fight, and now he's gonna get the chance to swallow some teeth.

Pacquiao fans are hilarious. The first round of negotiations fell through because Manny refused essentially a 30 million dollar drug test that required a table spoon of blood. Other than Manny I can't think of a single athlete on the planet that could avoid a drug test because he "thinks" it makes him weaker (it doesn't) and then have everyone else think the opponent is the one ducking.

I really think this fight will end up happening, simply because there is far too much money at stake for it not to. But I am curious as to what in Mayweather's career makes Pacquiao fan's so sure their man will win. Mayweather has never hit the canvas. His only two "knock downs" in his career consisted of a single glove touching the floor. And all of a sudden Manny Pacquiao, with his wild attack and shaky defense is going to drop the best counter-puncher of the modern era. The fight will probably go to a decision and I really can't see Mayweather getting outpointed by Pacquiao in any scenario.

I'm sick and tired or hearing Mayweather cherry picks his opponents so he can have an unblemished record. Which big names hasn't he fought that Pacquiao has?
