There has been a major shakeup within WWE over the past several weeks involving Brock Lesnar and we have been told that Goldberg may not be the only one possibly leaving after WMXX.
From talking with people close to Lesnar inside and outside the wrestling business over the last month or so, it's safe to say that he is not a very happy man right now. Lesnar is said to be particularly upset with WWE flying him all the way to South Africa "just to wrestle Hardcore Holly" instead of being used in a higher profile match on the tour. Lesnar (who we believe has a seven year deal with WWE) doesn't feel he's being used for a long-term run at the main event level.
Lesnar was also said to be upset at the fact that the current storyline plans after WMXX have him facing The Undertaker. Lesnar doesn't feel that he should be "fed to the Deadman" if he's supposed to be a long-term player.
Many people backstage are feeling the same way about Taker's return as it means he doesn't need to sell for people as much due to the nature of the deadman character. There was already some concern in the locker-room that if "Taker gets a huge push he may turn into the next "HHH of the SmackDown! locker-room". Taker's calling of his pay per view match with John Cena, where Taker, as described by one Smackdown wrestler, "gobbled up Cena like Cena was a job boy" has wrestlers upset and concerned about his return.
We have been told that Lesnar and Vince had a very tense meeting backstage at the SmackDown! tapings last week and Lesnar has gone on record as telling friends that he may take some time after WMXX to 'cool off'. A friend of Lesnar went on record as saying "even with his own airplane, the travel is burning him out, and this South Africa trip was handled all wrong."
As of this time, WWE is not making any post-WrestleMania plans for Lesnar. His name has been removed from all voiceovers on upcoming shows after Mania as well. He is still scheduled for the U.K though.
