  • Royal Rumble Ending Rushed & Changed, Low Morale Update, More Royal Rumble News

After Batista and John Cena spilled out of the ring at the same time at last night’s Royal Rumble pay-per-view, Vince McMahon came down to the ring from a backstage position to give orders to the referees as to what to do with the match.

As he got near to the ring, he slammed into it and appeared to suffer a leg injury in the process. When he got in the ring and tried to get up, his right knee buckled and he immediately fell down, landing on his rear end.

The referee’s then restarted the match as the result of orders from McMahon, while sitting in the ring, which Batista won. Once he got backstage again a trainer attendended to him, and there was a big crowd of people around him. The initial prognosis was that he blew out his knee.

The ending of last night’s Royal Rumble match was rushed, which explains the legit frustration showed by Batista, after he had won the match and won a Title shot at March’s WrestleMania 21. The World Heavyweight Title match between Triple H and Randy Orton ran a bit longer then it should have due to the hard timeframe needed for the Rumble with the 90-second entrance intervals. More was planned between Batista and John Cena at the end of the match, regardless of McMahon’s injury.

An article was posted here earlier today regarding the low morale, and the tense mood at last night’s Royal Rumble. If you haven’t already read the article, you can do so by clicking here. PWInsider have revealed further information regarding this story.

It seems that many of the workers weren’t getting paid a great deal for the Rumble and the busy schedule they have this week. This caused a mood of unhappiness backstage. Another topic is the status of the TV deals that the company has.

The announcement of Albie Hecht resigning has many people wondering what WWE’s future holds as at this point in time, neither one of their high paying TV deals is exactly on solid ground and that money is part of the backbone of WWE’s business.
